A lobbyist, a rabbi, and a fornicating ex-president walk into a bar...

The title sounds like the opening line to a joke. The real joke here is that in 2010, ex-President Bill "I did not have sexual relations with THAT woman" Clinton, Ron Book, and Miami-Dade Homeless Trust VP RABBI Solomon Schiff held a big soiree to discuss the unique homeless crisis in Miami. Of course, Book CAUSED much of the homeless crisis.

Former Persident Bill Clinton visited the Miami area 17-18 of April.

On Sunday April 18th, 2010, Rabbi Solomon Schiff, who is the Vice Chairman of the Miami-Dade County Homeless trust, attended a meeting with former President Bill Clinton at the Homeless Assistance Center In Homestead, Florida. The President was joined by 1300 students from 80 countries who are member of the Clinton Global Initiative University. These students have dedicated themselves to do community service and help, in a variety of ways, to make our communities better.

The Homeless Assistance Center was established and is supervised by the Homeless Trust. The Trust was created about 16 years go, and receives funds through a one percent tax on food and beverage. These funds, together with funds provided by the Federal Government, help provide various services including housing for the many homeless in our community. When the program stated,  there were 8,000 homeless on the streets, now there are less than 800.  This resulted form the creation of two homeless assistance centers, that were built, one in the Omni area of Miami, and the other in Homestead, as well as, a number of long term housing facilities

In addition to President Clinton, other speakers included Ron Book, Chairman of the homeless trust and Alonzo Mourning of the Mimi heat. Said Rabbi Schiff "to see such a large number of young people that are committed to helping to elevate the live of those in need, is very heartwarming and portends well for the future."
