Slander Suit against now-FORMER Florida State Senator Lauren Book allowed to continue

It is a lot harder for the Books to get rid of a slander suit when her opponent has standing in the comunity.

DAVIE, Fla., July 26, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- Former Broward County Mayor Dr. Barbara Sharief won another landmark victory and is one step closer to ultimate justice at trial for the alleged slander that she received by Lauren Book and her campaign. The Court ruled last night that Dr. Sharief had presented sufficient evidence to proceed to trial where she will be seeking over one million dollars in damages against Book and her campaign team for making false and untrue accusations that Sharief committed Medicaid fraud, among other falsehoods.

Judge Shari Africk Olefson stated as follows:

"That sufficient unrebutted evidence is reflected in the record, including but not limited to for a reasonable jury or trier of fact to conclude that Defendant (LAUREN BOOK) made and published to third parties, false information which was intended to harm Plaintiff in the context of an election campaign, and did harm Plaintiff."

The Court once again rejected Senator Book's relentless efforts to have the defamation lawsuit thrown out of court. This latest ruling was after the Court reviewed the under-oath depositions of Book and her campaign manager. The case will now head to a jury.

Expressing her stance, Dr. Sharief emphasized, "I am extremely proud that I have stood up for myself and every person who cares about truth and honesty in public discourse. No citizen should be victimized by the type of lies and politics of personal destruction and bullying exhibited Lauren Book and her campaign when they disseminated knowingly false information that harmed my family and my reputation."

Dr. Sharief's attorney Michael Pizzi said about the Judge's decision to move the case forward to trial. "We look forward to heading to trial and obtaining an ultimate victory in Court that will send a powerful message that the truth matters in politics and that hard-working self-made public servants like Dr. Barbara Sharief cannot be the subject of defamatory statements. Lauren Book's latest grift is trying to force foreign nations to join in her personal campaign of hatred and discrimination

Not everyone gets a slap on the wrist like Lauren
Book got after her arrest.
Book was never held accountable!
You folks may not want to believe this, but some countries of the world do NOT think like Americans. Some nations actually believe in the concept that a person who served time deserves a second chance. That concept is foreign to now-FORMER State Senator Lauren Book, who thinks the Olympics should police the world according to her disgusting standards. Of course, she's just trying to stay relevant now that she's no longer Florida's version of a DEI hire.

Steven van de Velde served his time and should be allowed to compete. Lauren Book needs to stay out of International affairs.

https://floridianpress.com/2024/08/leader-book-endorses-petition-to-ban-convicted-child-sexual-abusers-from-olympics/

Florida State Senate Minority Leader Lauren Book (D-FL) and her advocacy group – Lauren’s Kids – are asking individuals to sign a petition calling for the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to ban convicted child rapists from competing in the games.

This call to action from Book comes as Dutch beach volleyball player Steven van de Velde has been allowed to compete in the games despite being sentenced to four years in prison in 2016 for raping a 12-year-old girl. He served just one year, according to The Mirror.

This issue is personal to Book.

That’s why on social media, Lauren’s Kids is promoting the petition to ban child sex offenders from participating in the Olympics.

“The International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) decision to allow convicted child rapist Steven van de Velde to compete in the 2024 Olympic Games is a betrayal of the trust placed in the IOC by athletes, spectators, and the global community.”

Lauren Book herself added, “SIGN OUR PETITION demanding the IOC immediately adopt strict policies to prevent convicted pedophiles from participating in the Olympics.”

When asked about playing with Van de Velde, Dutch teammate Matthew Immers stated, “I don’t want to say much about it. What was in the past is in the past. I can’t change his past. I’m here to play with him. We want to have good results here. There are a lot of people who support us. We do it for them. He has a lot of pressure on his shoulders. I’m OK with that. Mentally we are strong, I am strong, we will get through this together."

Immers added that he was “disappointed with the fans” for booing his playing partner.

"It is what it is. I was disappointed with the fans. We talked on the field and asked ourselves: what do we need from each other? It was worse than in the first game. We need each other on the field, the hugs, the cheering,” said Immers.

The Olympics never fails to yield controversy.

Corrupt Florida State Senator Lauren Book siphoned millions into her own pockets during her tenure as state senator

Lauren Book's time as a state senator in the state of Florida is finally up. Much like Trump telling us he's going to be a dictator on day one if he's reelected in November 2024, Lauren Book warned us she was not going to abstain from voting in favor of using state funds to fund her private charity or enrich her drunk-driving lobbyist father's clients, and she kept her word. Despite running (mostly unopposed) as a Democrat, Lauren Book received millions from Republican donors, funneled through her charity, of course. (As noted in the Florida Bulldog article, Lauren's kids receive just under $20 million from 2011-2021). And of course, Lauren Book's self-titled charity raken in even more taxpayer dollars through their hideous license plate program.

1.39—Disclosure of conflict of interest and prohibition on voting thereon

(1) Abstention on matters of special private gain or loss.—A Senator may not vote on any matter that the Senator knows would inure to the special private gain or loss of the Senator. The Senator must disclose the nature of the interest in the matter from which the Senator is required to abstain.

Of course, Floridiots turned a blind eye to all this. Despite having no experience doing more than wiping her own ass without her DUI daddy, Ronald Lee Book, Dems and Repubs alike fell all over themselves trying to curry favor with Bimbo Book.

So just how much has Lauren Book cost Florida taxpayers? According to a recent news article by the Florida Phoenix, Florida legislators have been paid $29,697 a year, or $237,576 for the 8 years she was state senator. Not bad for 60 days of part-time work, huh? But Lauren' Book's salary from her "Lauren's Kids" charity for 2022, the most recent year for the Lauren's Kids Form 990s, was $235,000. Lauren Book collected just over $1.4 million from her charity just from the time she was in office

2022 - $235,000
2021 - $235,962
2020 - $217,500
2019 - $215,000
2018 - $185,000
2017 - $159,394
(Lauren's Kids 2023 tax forms have not be posted publicly yet)

This, of course, isn't even counting the money she's colected through fundraising efforts, kickback, under-the-table payments, and other ways she's colleected money in ways that aren't documentedo on tax forms. Campaign funds are supposed to go to direct campaign expenses, but she collected so much more money than other candidates despite running unopposed. Now that Lauren Book is termed-out of office, she's back to her money-walk across the state, where pols lined up to kiss her ass once more, plus the trips are paid through her charity, so nothig comes out of pocket for her.

In 2021, Lauren Book posted a net worth of just under $4 million. Lauren the Launderer does her dirty deeds in plain sight, yet, as noted in one of the Florida Bulldog articles, people did NOT take notice. I presume it is because she has always played the victim.

Her entire shtick is playing victim. She tried that when she fought to shut down this blog. But she failed. She will NEVER get that win back. There's a reason that bitch never sue me. You know why? Because what I post here, with the exception of opinions I have to state using terms like presume or speculate, is all from legitimate news sources. She can (presumably) pay dipshits to delete criticisms of her on Wikipedia, and she can file SLAPP suits to try to silence critics, then lie about them in court, but she cannot get Logue v. Book, 297 So. 3d 605 (Fla. Dist. Ct. App. 2020), striken from the courts. That's an eternal scoreboard, so Lauren AND her DUI daddy can kiss my ass.

Back to the task at hand, Lauren Book ripped off Florida taxpayers, but that's FloriDUH politics for you. I will continue to expose her as a fraud and huckster. Get a REAL job!

Arrogant Ron Book declares that he will end homelessness in Miami by next year

Ronald Lee Book, the drunken head of the Miami-Dade Homeless Trust, proclaims he will make Miami free from homelessness by next year. How does he plan on doing that?

In 2022, Ronald Lee Book claimed there are only 972 homeless in the community! Florida Action Committee counted 488 transient people required to register in Miami-Dade. That 488 number is not a claim, that’s fact and taken from the FDLE data file. And, that number also excludes those who have absconded, are in custody or the five who are registered in Miami-Dade but also deceased. If the numbers were not being misreported, that would mean that more than half of the homeless are on the registry and subject to the County’s residency restriction.

I conducted a headcount just this morning (3/25/2024) of the 1963 Persons Forced to Register on the FDLE registry listed as residing in Miami-Dade County, which includes 491 listed as “transient.” That is 25% of Miami-Dade’s registrant population. That’s also consistent with what FAC counted in 2022.

Ron Book forced people on the sex offense registry into homelessness, and as head of the Homeless Trust, consistently helped keep them homeless. So just how is DUI Ron going to end homelessness among the populace he made homeless in the first place?

Advocate Predicts Miami Will End Homelessness Next Year

By Karen Curtis, Mar 21, 2024

(Miami, Florida) - Homeless Trust Chair Ron Book says Miami-Dade is close to ending homelessness.

He cites a new Florida law signed yesterday by Governor DeSantis and adaptive reuse of affordable housing for the downward trend.

Book predicts by next year Miami-Dade will be the first urban community in the United States to end homelessness.

He says there are projects in the offing to create more affordable housing which is the key to eliminating the unsheltered.

He adds that the thousand chronic homeless people left on the streets of Miami-Dade who are "shelter resistant" will need affordable housing.

Book says a critical part of Florida's new homeless law requires local governments to provide the homeless with security, sanitation and behavioral health services rather than encampment.

The new law goes into effect Oct 1st.

And here is the bill that Ronald Lee Book fails to mention by name:

DeSantis signs ban on homeless people camping in Florida public spaces

BY LAUREN IRWIN - 03/21/24 11:52 AM ET

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) signed a bill Wednesday that bans homeless people from camping in the state’s public spaces.

“Florida will not allow homeless encampments to intrude on its citizens or undermine their quality of life like we see in states like New York and California,” DeSantis said in a statement. “The legislation I signed today upholds our commitment to law and order while also ensuring homeless individuals have the resources they need to get back on their feet.”

The bill, H.B. 1365, will take effect Oct. 1. Under the legislation, homeless people are prohibited from camping on city streets, sidewalks and in parks. The shelters they will instead be placed in will be monitored by law enforcement agencies, DeSantis’s release said.

It requires municipalities to create designated spaces for camping and sleeping if homeless shelters are full. The spaces must have access to “clean and operable restrooms and running water.”

The sites also must have security present at all times and access to behavioral health services, including substance abuse and mental health resources, according to the legislation. Drug and alcohol use on the properties will not be tolerated, and officials will “enforce this prohibition.”

In a post online, DeSantis released facts about the state’s homeless population. It said that even though Florida is the third most populous state in the country, it does not have a city on the top 10 of homeless populations. The release also said while Florida’s total population “has increased, the state has experienced one of the largest decreases in the homelessness rate” since 2019.

Democrat lawmakers said the bill was proposed despite there being no studies or data to support it, the Tampa Bay Times reported.

“The lawlessness seen in ‘progressive’ cities–sprawling encampments, open-air drug markets, and homeless people endangering themselves and others–is entirely preventable,” DeSantis posted on X, formerly Twitter. “We won’t stand for it in Florida, and our action today is one of many steps we’re taking to keep our cities clean and safe for everyone.”

Senator Lauren Book's latest failure: "Prostitution" database goes offline after legislature fails to fund it LOL

Another failure by FloriDUH's least valuable state senator!

I'd like to remind readers that Matt Gaetz was never featured on this database.

Florida human trafficking database with names and mugshots of p***s caught paying for sex VANISHES after lawmakers failed to agree to extend it

  • A Florida database with names and mugshots of p***s convicted of paying for sex suddenly disappeared
  • The Soliciting for Prostitution Public Database was set up in 2021
  • Lawmakers didn't re-enact the database going into 2024 after reviewing its effectiveness at preventing sex trafficking networks.

Florida's database with names and mugshots of people convicted of paying for sex suddenly disappeared on January 1, 2024.

The Soliciting for Prostitution Public Database was launched at the start of 2021, and racked up a list of hundreds of offenders, according to ABC.

The Database mysteriously vanished on January 1, 2024, along with a message saying that 'the section requiring the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to create and maintain the Solicitation for Prostitution Public Database stands repealed.'

Lawmakers had failed to re-enact the database going into 2024 - meaning that all of the convicted sex offenders and their mugshots disappeared without a trace.

The state was set to study the database's effectiveness and whether it was preventing human trafficking networks going into the New Year.

Senate Bill 540 and House Bill 851 set up the database, which included anyone convicted of 'soliciting, inducing, enticing or procuring another to commit prostitution, lewdness or assignation,' according to the Senate's bill - which was drafted by Democratic senator Lauren Book.

After being passed by the House and the Senate - it went to Governor Ron DeSantis's desk to be signed into action as part of his overall efforts to crack down on trafficking in Florida.

It was revealed that out of the 262 prostitution arrests in 2021 - just one made it on the database. He was the only one listed in the entire state.

A person has to be arrested and convicted of soliciting for prostitution - paying another for sex - after January 1, 2021, in order to be included on the database.

If a person does not commit a sexual offense for five years following the initial offense - they are automatically removed from the public database.

'The idea was to shame people,' State Attorney Andrew Warren told ABC.

For the entire year of 2021 - only one person was added to the database for soliciting an undercover deputy to perform a sex act for $25.

The one name massively underrepresented the accurate numbers and scale of human trafficking that occurs in Florida.

In reality, such soliciting is prevalent in the state's strip clubs, massage industry, adult entertainment, modeling studios and escort services says Dotti Groover-Skipper, a well-known, anti-human trafficking advocate in Tampa.
